Infantry Adjutant
Tadeus Szablinski (from Krakow)

Not a sentimental individual, but a soldier pure and simple, rough, imperious. Under the traditional 'czapka', he shows us a brutal face, crossed by a red moustache. Clear blue eyes, hard and fixed. Air of power, face of war, evoking the bitter struggle on the endless plains, on the edge of immense marshes, in the interminable monotonous birch forests, combat in muddy trenches in the snow. A face with prominent cheek bones, quasi-eastern; a face without fear, even without reproach; a face where strength dominates the spirit, a merciless face.
